Today, I’d like to introduce KEEN’s new Fall/Winter 2025 models — “ZIONIC NXT WP” and “ZIONIC NXT MID WP.”
When it comes to KEEN, the brand is best known for its popular sandals like the “NEWPORT” and “UNEEK,” as well as trekking shoes such as the “TARGHEE.” Among them, the ZIONIC NXT stands out as a lightweight, sporty trail shoe that’s drawing a lot of attention this season.
Sporty and Striking Design
Let’s start with the design. The upper features a sporty look, while the sole adopts a rugged design that balances lightweight styling with outdoor-ready toughness. A large “K” logo on the side adds an impactful visual accent to the overall look.
The breathable mesh upper is reinforced with resin overlays in key areas, enhancing durability while adding a stylish accent. This makes the design suitable not only for outdoor adventures but also for everyday urban wear.
Fully Waterproof with the New “AERO WATERPROOF” Technology
Despite its breathable mesh upper, the shoe is fully waterproof thanks to KEEN’s proprietary waterproof and breathable membrane, “AERO WATERPROOF.” (The waterproof layer extends up to the gray section inside the shoe.)
The new AERO WATERPROOF membrane is thinner and more breathable than KEEN.DRY, which was used in previous waterproof models. This improvement keeps your feet comfortable and less stuffy, even during long hours of training or running.
Combining both waterproofness and breathability, this model is a versatile all-rounder — perfect for rainy-day city walks as well as active trail adventures.
Excellent Grip and Superior Cushioning
The outsole features a multi-directional lug pattern with 4mm-deep lugs that provide a firm grip on the ground, ensuring stable traction even on rocky or muddy terrain.
The midsole — which plays a key role in absorbing impact while walking — is made of a high-rebound foam material that greatly enhances cushioning. Compared to KEEN’s trekking model “TARGHEE” and the trail-oriented “HIGHTRAIL,” this model offers even higher shock absorption performance.
Inside the sole, a built-in plate called a “shank” helps prevent twisting and provides added stability while walking, reducing foot fatigue even during long hours of use.
Comfortable Fit with Antibacterial & Odor-Control Function
The insole is also made of resilient foam material, providing long-lasting cushioning that maintains a springy, responsive feel even after extended wear.
Additionally, the insole is treated with a natural, antibacterial and deodorizing finish, helping to reduce odor and keep your feet fresh and clean even after long hours of activity.
