Today, I’ll be introducing the “CTZ 15L MESSENGER” and “CTZ 24L MESSENGER” from the American bag brand “CHROME”!
CHROME’s messenger bags have a 30-year history, and their iconic models “MINI METRO” and “CTZ” have finally been updated for the Fall/Winter 2024 season, bringing us the models I’ll be introducing today!
The simplicity and iconic design of the previous “CTZ” remain intact, but these new models feature upgrades in weight reduction and storage capacity, making them even more user-friendly!
This time, I’ll be comparing the new models with the previous “CTZ” and providing an in-depth introduction.

The 24L size remains the same, but the “MINI METRO” has been discontinued, and a smaller 15L size has been introduced.
The 15L and 24L models differ only in size, with no differences in functionality or storage pockets.
Both sizes have been slightly lightened overall!
This weight difference is thanks to the lighter and more flexible waterproof material inside, maintaining waterproofing while reducing weight!
The softer material also makes the bag feel more comfortable to use!
Water Resistance
Thanks to the combination of the waterproof material inside and the water-repellent exterior, both the old and new models are “completely waterproof”, ensuring no water gets inside!
Even with the old model, items inside never got wet even in heavy rain!
Seat Belt Buckle
Of course, CHROME’s signature “seat belt buckle” is still included!
However, it’s now replaceable, thanks to this update!
You can swap it out for a buckle in your favorite color, like flashy gold!

Left and Right Shoulder Compatibility
The old model was left-shoulder only, but thanks to popular demand, the new model now supports “both left and right shoulders”!
Previously, only the “BURAN III” bag supported both shoulders, but now the “CTZ” can also switch the shoulder strap to whichever side you prefer!
With the ability to switch between both shoulders, the sub-strap can also be swapped out! The old model’s sub-strap couldn’t be removed, so it would dangle when not in use, but now it can be detached to avoid getting in the way!
However, since it now supports both shoulders, the shoulder strap has become a bit less stable compared to the old model, so those who are used to the previous “CTZ” might find the fit slightly different.

If you purchase from our store, we can replace the buckle or swap the shoulder strap for you upon request, so feel free to ask!
This new model also includes a “SLIDE” type with an “adjustable buckle” instead of the “seat belt buckle,” which was released simultaneously!
Carry Handle
With this update, we’ve added a “Carry Handle”—a feature that many customers have been eagerly requesting!
This handle is designed so that it doesn’t compromise the bag’s simple design.
Storage Space
Front Section
When you lift the flap, there’s a pocket on the front.
The previous model had a few small pockets, such as for pens, but the new model features a larger pocket.
This pocket is magnetic, making it easier to open and close compared to a zipper! It’s large enough to store items like a wallet!
Additionally, the new model now includes a PC sleeve that wasn’t available in previous CHROME messenger bags! The inside is lined with fleece material to protect your PC!
Main Compartment
The main compartment, which was simple with no pockets in the previous model, now includes an internal bottle pocket in the new model!
Thanks to the elastic material used, it can accommodate a variety of bottle sizes!
There’s also Velcro inside, designed for attaching a CHROME organizer. If you need more storage pockets, consider this option.
In the previous model, there was Velcro here that allowed for a two-layer structure, but in the new model, it’s sewn in, so this feature is no longer available.
Shoulder Strap
These are the storage pockets, but just like the previous model, the shoulder strap is designed to allow the attachment of CHROME’s mobile case and other accessories, so you can customize it as you like!
