The “JUNGLE MOC BREEZE” is a new model for Fall/Winter 2024, updated with mesh fabric to reduce moisture and enhance breathability, based on the long-selling MERRELL item “JUNGLE MOC”!
MERRELL’s Jungle Mocs are known for their outstanding comfort, with various models like the Vibram-soled “Jungle Moc 2.0”, those with leather or knit uppers, and slide types.
In the past, a mesh version called the “Jungle Moc Ventilator” was available and was a popular item in our store, but it was discontinued for a while, and mesh versions were not released again until now.
We’ve had many inquiries from Jungle Moc enthusiasts even after it was discontinued, so it’s finally back for Fall/Winter 2024!
This model has been well received since its release. In this post, I’ll introduce its features and provide my impressions after trying it on!
Design
The design is based on the original Jungle Moc, with the upper made primarily from “mesh fabric”!
The lining also uses mesh fabric, which provides excellent breathability not found in the traditional leather Jungle Mocs!
Additionally, leather is applied to high-wear areas, enhancing durability!
The upper also features stretchable material in the central part for easier on and off.
Unlike previous Jungle Mocs and 2.0 models with side slits, the new version has these slits on the top of the upper.
The midsole and outsole shapes remain unchanged from the traditional Jungle Mocs.
Comfort
When I tried them on, I felt that the traditional Jungle Mocs were more comfortable in terms of cushioning. Other staff members agreed that the original version was better.
It’s unclear if this difference is due to internal materials or construction, or if it’s because the insole is slightly different.
The ease of putting them on was better with the side slits of the traditional Jungle Mocs.
However, the breathability of the new model is excellent, and on hot days, the comfort provided by the leather and mesh fabric was noticeably different!
The weight difference is only 30g, so it’s not noticeable once worn.
