Today, I’d like to introduce you to the “VOLCAN 35L PACK”, a perfect backpack for commuting, school, and travel, from the American bag brand CHROME.
When it comes to “VOLCAN,” it’s CHROME’s classic square-shaped backpack. In the past, we’ve seen models like the “VOLCAN BACKPACK” and its upgraded version, the “VOLCAN PACK PLUS.” Now, for the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, the latest version has been released, offering even more advanced features!

Compared to previous VOLCAN models, the new version offers a larger capacity while being lighter, making it more user-friendly than ever.
Recently, more customers have been searching for 35–40L backpacks, especially from brands like CHROME. For those who want a bag that’s both spacious and easy to carry, this is a highly recommended option!
While many other brands also offer square-shaped backpacks, the VOLCAN stands out with its unique “top opening design”. Unlike most models that open from the back panel, the VOLCAN opens toward the far side when worn on the front. This feature makes it much easier to access your belongings, even in tight spaces like trains!
Storage Space
Let’s take a closer look at the storage spaces!
Main Compartment
The main compartment features the same full-open design as the previous model, the “VOLCAN PACK PLUS.” This makes it easy to check and retrieve your belongings!
It also includes a padded laptop sleeve and mesh pockets. The laptop sleeve fits devices up to 17 inches!
Additionally, the pockets are placed in convenient locations for easy access when the bag is worn on the front, allowing you to retrieve your belongings smoothly even while on the move.
You can also adjust the zipper positions to access the main storage without taking the backpack off!
Top Pocket
A new addition to the VOLCAN series is a top pocket! This feature wasn’t available in previous models.
Inside the top pocket, you’ll find a key ring to securely hold your keys or other small items.
Front Pocket
As with previous VOLCAN models, there’s a Velcro-style front storage space.
This time, the internal pocket layout has been slightly updated, and a new fleece-lined pocket has been added. This allows you to store tablets and other delicate items outside of the main compartment!
The new design also features a side-accessible pocket, further enhancing usability.
Side Pocket
Unlike the “VOLCAN PACK PLUS,” which had dual side pockets, the new model features a single, larger pocket on one side.
This pocket is connected internally to the main compartment, making it easier to retrieve items.
Bottle Pocket
As with the previous VOLCAN models, the new version includes bottle pockets on both sides!
This time, the bottle pockets are made of elastic material, which helps maintain the bag’s sleek silhouette when not in use. This thoughtful update improves functionality and aesthetics!

Other Updates
Shoulder Straps
The new model introduces a curved design for the shoulder straps, offering better comfort and fit, especially for long-term use.
There’s also increased space to attach CHROME accessories like the “PHONE POUCH,” enhancing expandability!
Small but handy updates include elastic bands to keep excess straps from getting in the way!
Back Panel
The back panel has been redesigned to enhance breathability, providing a noticeably cooler and more comfortable experience!
Additionally, considering the increasing demand for travel backpacks, this model now features a strap that allows it to be secured to a carry-on handle. This added functionality makes it even more convenient for traveling!
