【CHROME】VOLCAN 35L PACK

Key Specifications

Capacity: 35L

Compared to previous VOLCAN models, the new version offers a larger capacity while being lighter, making it more user-friendly than ever.

Recently, more customers have been searching for 35–40L backpacks, especially from brands like CHROME. For those who want a bag that’s both spacious and easy to carry, this is a highly recommended option!

While many other brands also offer square-shaped backpacks, the VOLCAN stands out with its unique “top opening design”. Unlike most models that open from the back panel, the VOLCAN opens toward the far side when worn on the front. This feature makes it much easier to access your belongings, even in tight spaces like trains!

Storage Space

Let’s take a closer look at the storage spaces!

Main Compartment

The main compartment features the same full-open design as the previous model, the “VOLCAN PACK PLUS.” This makes it easy to check and retrieve your belongings!

It also includes a padded laptop sleeve and mesh pockets. The laptop sleeve fits devices up to 17 inches!

Additionally, the pockets are placed in convenient locations for easy access when the bag is worn on the front, allowing you to retrieve your belongings smoothly even while on the move.

You can also adjust the zipper positions to access the main storage without taking the backpack off!

Top Pocket

A new addition to the VOLCAN series is a top pocket! This feature wasn’t available in previous models.

Inside the top pocket, you’ll find a key ring to securely hold your keys or other small items.

Front Pocket

As with previous VOLCAN models, there’s a Velcro-style front storage space.

This time, the internal pocket layout has been slightly updated, and a new fleece-lined pocket has been added. This allows you to store tablets and other delicate items outside of the main compartment!

The new design also features a side-accessible pocket, further enhancing usability.

Side Pocket

Unlike the “VOLCAN PACK PLUS,” which had dual side pockets, the new model features a single, larger pocket on one side.

This pocket is connected internally to the main compartment, making it easier to retrieve items.

Bottle Pocket

As with the previous VOLCAN models, the new version includes bottle pockets on both sides!

This time, the bottle pockets are made of elastic material, which helps maintain the bag’s sleek silhouette when not in use. This thoughtful update improves functionality and aesthetics!

Other Updates

Shoulder Straps

The new model introduces a curved design for the shoulder straps, offering better comfort and fit, especially for long-term use.

There’s also increased space to attach CHROME accessories like the “PHONE POUCH,” enhancing expandability!

Small but handy updates include elastic bands to keep excess straps from getting in the way!

Back Panel

The back panel has been redesigned to enhance breathability, providing a noticeably cooler and more comfortable experience!

Additionally, considering the increasing demand for travel backpacks, this model now features a strap that allows it to be secured to a carry-on handle. This added functionality makes it even more convenient for traveling!

I’m Shimada, a staff member at the outdoor shop “FITTWO” in Ueno!

Today, I’ll introduce the new specifications of the CHROME keychain, comparing it with the previous model.

MINI BUCKLE KEYCHAIN🔑

Introduction

The keychain’s main attraction is that it allows you to attach your keys to the outside of your bag, so you don’t have to open the bag to take them out.

Additionally, it uses CHROME’s signature buckle, making it easy to detach with one touch!

Comparison with the Previous Model

The most significant change from the previous model is the specification of the belt loop used to attach it to the bag.

It has been changed from a button type to a plastic hook, improving durability.

However, attaching it has become a bit more complicated, so I’ll explain it with photos.

Also, the position of the reflector and the shape of the buckle have changed.

How to Attach and Detach

First, pinch the center and the tip of the plastic hook of the belt loop together.
(Be careful, as it might be a bit stiff.)

The metal part will detach, so remove the belt without the metal part from the hook.

Next, loop the belt around the desired attachment point.

Finally, pass the belt through the hook and reattach the metal part to complete the process!

It will go smoothly if you pinch the center of the hook while reattaching the metal part!

Please follow the same steps to detach it.

Conclusion

It might be a bit tricky to detach the hook at first, but once you get used to it, you’ll find it easy to do!

Once attached, the hook is securely fastened with the metal part, so you don’t have to worry about it coming off accidentally!
Although the previous button type never came off, the new model offers even more peace of mind.

The new model also features the word “CHROME” engraved on the buckle and comes in a rainbow color option, making it recommended even for those who own the previous model!

It also features CHROME’s signature “seatbelt buckle”!

You can wear it without having to pass it over your head, and it’s easy to adjust the fit!

With a sub-strap, the bag stays in place when you ride a bicycle or bend over, so it doesn’t get in your way!

The main compartment features several pockets, including a D-ring to attach keys!

There is also a horizontal pocket on the front!

Next up is the “KADET MAX.” This is an enlarged and upgraded version of the KADET!

With over 1.5 times the capacity of the KADET, it looks significantly larger! This model can also hold a 16-inch laptop and comes with the “seatbelt buckle” as well!

Opening the main pocket reveals several mesh pockets and slots for pens. There are also padded pockets lined with fleece for laptops. A bottle pocket is also included on the side!

The front storage space also has pockets and a key ring, providing excellent storage capacity!

Next is the “MINI KADET,” the smallest bag in the KADET series.

With about half the capacity of the KADET, it’s smaller and more compact, making it an easy size for smaller individuals and women to carry!

Instead of the seatbelt buckle, it features an “adjuster buckle.” While it doesn’t have the quick-release functionality of the seatbelt buckle, you can still easily adjust the fit!

The adjuster buckle is less bulky and lighter than the seatbelt buckle!

If you prefer the seatbelt buckle, replacement buckles are available separately, so you can customize the MINI KADET to your liking!

The MINI KADET doesn’t come with a sub-strap, but you can purchase one separately if you prefer a sleeker look.

The number of pockets is almost the same as the KADET, just in a smaller package!

Next is the “TENSILE SLING BAG,” which has a reduced amount of reflective material. This sling bag, with a seatbelt buckle, has a capacity between the KADET and MINI KADET!

It features three compartments. The frontmost one is simple, without any pockets.

The middle compartment has a gusset, allowing for thicker items, and includes loops to secure small items.

The back compartment features several pockets, including a zippered pocket, and a key ring!

Despite its compact size, it offers excellent storage capacity and makes it easy to organize small items!

Next is the “MINI TENSILE SLING BAG,” a smaller version of the TENSILE. With a capacity of 2(L), it’s perfect for carrying the bare essentials for a short outing!

This model features a plastic buckle and can be used as both a shoulder bag and a waist bag!

The main compartment includes a mesh pocket and a key ring!

The zipper opens 180 degrees, and inside you’ll find several mesh pockets and loops for pens and other items. The mesh pockets are stretchy, so they can easily hold a smartphone!
